Anthony "Tony" Godfrey is a litigator and appellate attorney with over a decade of experience representing individuals and families at every stage of litigation involving pharmaceutical and medical device liability, civil rights violations, and commercial disputes. Throughout his career, his focus has been holding corporate and institutional defendants accountable when they put profits before people.
Tony has briefed and argued motions at every stage of litigation, taken and defended depositions of fact and expert witnesses, litigated expert admissibility challenges in federal court, and drafted winning appellate briefs on jurisdictional and procedural issues. His products liability experience includes coordinating bellwether trial preparation and managing dockets of thousands of plaintiffs across multiple jurisdictions. His civil rights work has included habeas corpus petitions and § 1983 actions protecting individuals facing discrimination and constitutional violations.
Tony believes everyone deserves competent, creative representation regardless of the resources arrayed against them. He remains committed to leveraging every available tool—including emerging technologies—to ensure his clients receive the quality of advocacy typically wielded by corporate defendants.
Tony earned his J.D. from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, where he served on the International Law Review and received the Best Advocate award in moot court competition. He holds a B.A. in English, Spanish, and International Relations from Abilene Christian University, graduating cum laude. Before law school, he worked as a policy aide in Guatemala on environmental regulation and human rights.
He has been published on international legal developments in the peer-reviewed Law & Business Review of the Americas. Licensed in Texas since 2016, Anthony maintains professional proficiency in Spanish. Outside of work, he can be found cheering for Liverpool FC or exploring local music venues.
